Set in motion by gentle air currents, Quadrilateral with Four Sides, 1976 is an excellent example of George Rickey’s intimately scaled, indoor sculpture. Rickey, along with Alexander Calder, has defined the course of American kinetic sculpture. His works can be viewed in prominent public environments throughout the world and are held in prestigious museum collections such as the Museum of Modern Art and the Guggenheim Museum in New York City, the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C., and the Honolulu Museum of Art, among many others.
