About the contemporary artist, Teo Gonzalez
Teo González developed his signature painting style by utilizing thousands of drops of water arranged into a grid like pattern as the foundation of his intricate, post-minimalist compositions. Within each water drop, a small amount of ink or enamel paint is placed and left to dry. As each color filled cell is defined by its own unique shape, the overall composition becomes a fascinating topography of undulating patterns and glistening surfaces.
The artist was born in Zaragoza, Spain and currently lives in New York City. His work can be found in many distinguished public collections including the Museum of Modern Art, New York, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, The National Gallery of Art, Washington D.C., the Achenbach Foundation Fine Art Museum, San Francisco, and the Borusan Contemporary Museum, Istanbul, Turkey, amongst many others.
