Tim Bavington
Tim Bavington paints vibrating, optical color-field abstractions that pay homage to the rhythm and energy of classic and indie rock songs. Musical tonalities and specific chord arrangements from selected rock-and-roll riffs are translated into a corresponding visual language and color coded into each composition. Glowing, neon-like colors, laid down side by side in graceful lines, disolve into each other creating a hypnotic, almost psychedelic, visual experience.
Born in the United Kingdom, Tim Bavington lives in Las Vegas, Nevada. His works can be found in many important private and public collections, including the Museum of Modern Art, New York, NY; Denver Art Museum, Denver, CO; Portland Museum of Art, Portland, OR; Museum of Contemporary Art, San Diego, CA; and the Arkansas Art Center, Little Rock, AR.
